A Christian Answer To Alcohol, Drug, & Substance Abuse

For The Addicted Seeking Freedom

BETHEL COLONY OF MERCY

We are a Bible-teaching ministry for those who are interested in a Christian approach to treating substance abuse and alcoholism. We teach the addicted that there is victory through Jesus Christ and the truths of the Bible. Our addiction treatment center offers classroom teaching, workbooks, audio tapes, personal counseling, and worship services. Bethel’s treatment center is primarily designed to produce in each person a more effective lifestyle in which he allows Jesus Christ to take control of his life to achieve victory over addictions.

SUBSTANCE ABUSE MINISTRY

Bethel Colony of Mercy is dedicated to helping men and women faced with drug and alcohol additions to overcome their struggle through Jesus Christ and the truths of the Bible.

Looking for a free (except for a minimal entry fee) drug and alcohol rehab with a faith-based approach using the Bible and Christian principles in counseling? Then, Bethel Colony of Mercy, located in Lenoir, North Carolina, is the place for you. With only an entry fee of $350.00, Bethel Colony is a 65-day residential program that teaches victory over sin through Jesus Christ and the Bible.

This is done through classroom teaching, audio tapes, counseling both at the Colony and online, homework, worship services, and work projects. Our program is designed to provide a vital context in which the students are encouraged to know Christ personally and to understand the practical outworking of the Word of God in meeting every need. Daily teaching, counseling, devotionals, guided personal Bible study and prayer provide the means by which these objectives are accomplished. This, combined with a disciplined schedule, healthful climate, nutritious food, and relaxing recreation, soon restores a measure of physical health and a more positive mental outlook. The students also participate in routine maintenance of the facilities, general upkeep of the grounds, and community projects. Bethel Colony’s program is primarily designed to produce in each student a more effective lifestyle in which he or she allows Jesus Christ to take control. Please read About Bethel Colony under Who We Are for more information.

TESTIMONIALS

I have personally seen the Lord use Bethel Colony of Mercy in a mighty way in the lives of so many, including myself.  As a former graduate, and now a pastor and Celebrate Recovery Ministry Leader, Bethel Colony has been a tremendous asset to our church over the past 15 years.  Sometimes a person needs more than just a Sunday morning message and a weeknight meeting.  Bethel Colony is a safe, Christ-centered ministry that I recommend to anyone needing a spiritual transformation.

I can’t begin to express my gratitude for Bethel Colony of Mercy, as a Recovery Pastor, as a Dad and being in recovery for over 20 years myself it’s truly a blessing to see the life-changing impact that their program has on men and women bound by the chains of addiction. We have sent many to Bethel who have come out and used what they’ve learned to disciple others in their church and our Celebrate Recovery Program.
My own daughter was a raging alcoholic, living a life of sin and chaos…. But God! Something beautiful happened to her up on that mountain and she is forever changed and has become the woman of God He intended her to be. She’s now helping other women in their journey.
If you or someone you love is struggling and looking for freedom, it can be found in Christ Jesus at Bethel Colony of Mercy.

Going to Bethel changed my life in so many ways. They helped me understand the Bible and God’s word. Between the classes and personal counseling, I developed a relationship with God and he has rescued me. I developed lifetime friendships and they are always there for me. This is the only place I went for help, and it was the only place I needed. Thank you Bethel Colony.

T.J. graduated in January, ’22.  The chains of addiction have been broken, being at Bethel has truly changed her life around.  She is working, she volunteers helping autistic children with horse therapy, she continues to stay in the Word, she goes to church with her family, she stays in contact with friends she made at Bethel daily and they all hold each other accountable.

Bethel equipped me with spiritual tools to know how to be successful in life. This place has lit the spiritual fire in my soul again.  I learned who I was in Christ; more than a conqueror!

The ministers are truly concerned with every student’s success.  Preachers and counselors have been in shoes that were once not walking with Christ but now are.  You cannot break the bonds of addiction without Jesus Christ.

Awesome teaching, great balance of teaching, structure, and discipline.  The application of Biblical teaching to real life – character, marriage, fatherhood, etc…Only place I’ve ever been with any substance to the teachings.

When Pastor Pruitt stands behind the pulpit it’s with the sole purpose to MAKE GOD’S UNSHAKABLE TRUTH KNOWN! The men & women who are students at Bethel Colony of Mercy are in a fight for their souls. Whether they know it or not, eternity is being weighed in the balance. Not everyone makes it. The Evil One longs to steal, kill and destroy and we must always be on guard, watch and pray. When any of our students open their hearts to Jesus with humble hearts of repentance and a desire for a redeemed life, AMAZING transformations begin to take place. And with these faith-filled steps our loving Savior sits at the potter’s wheel and “makes all things new.” Every story of a transformed life at Bethel is a glorious celebration here and in heaven. And, as long as we have breath and Jesus has not yet returned, we will bring God’s hope, health and healing to those battling addictions. If you or someone you know are in dark caves of despair please call us. We’re here waiting to point you or a family member or friend to a wonderful path towards the new life longed for! Bethel Colony Of Mercy
At Bethel Colony of Mercy both the men’s and women’s campuses are regularly blessed with donations totally UNEXPECTED and a completeSURPRISE! God is so faithful and we are humbled by the support. Clothes after a house decluttering, paper products, cleaning supplies, vehicles in good condition, food from restaurants, companies or community events, tools, home & garden supplies, household goods, plants, books, hygiene items, computers, office supplies, furniture and MUCH, MUCH MORE find their way here and materially support our daily, life transformation ministry. All this happens in the rolling foothills of the scenic Appalachian Mountains. Our Housekeeping Director Phil Lambert was standing in front of two boxes in the “Love Building.” Can you guess what’s inside? The first person who correctly guesses will get a FREE BETHEL tee-shirt in your size. Keep guessing and we’ll post tomorrow morning who our winner is! God bless you! 1st Corinthians 2:9 NKJV9 But as it is written:“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man, The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”#heisfaithful #godsupplies #bountyfromheaven #yesgod #betheldonors #bethelcolony ... The men and women who find their way to Bethel Colony of Mercy learn the power of prayer as it is a central part for all we do. Facing broken marriages, court cases, ravaged personal health from addictions, lost employment and destroyed relationships our students are instructed in the life changing power with purposeful prayer. These aren’t formulas, chants, hollow words nor false incantations. Heartfelt cries for forgiveness, redemption and deliverance from bondages with addictions are a sweet fragrance to our Father in heaven who is as close as pure morning cries for help and late night whispers of deep, broken need. God sent Jesus as our bridge to Him and mediator for all things. And, that’s why every prayer is stamped, “SPECIAL DELIVERY!” Our Savior is waiting. Take time to speak with Him right now. Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.#prayerworks #prayerwarrior #godspeaksnow #godlistens #powerfullprayer #helpme ... Pastor Loss is teaching the men at Bethel Colony of Mercy just now. The message? “Keep your armor on! We are in a war for our souls! The devil is a liar. He loses in the end!” For over forty years he has been faithfully “training soldiers” to understand the battles we WILL encounter and how to guard our vulnerable hearts. Satan seeks wandering men to “steal, kill and destroy.” Please pray that hardened hearts among the men will be made soft today. Life and death, sin and righteous and all with heaven and hell are real. There is a BETTER WAY and PATH TO PEACE, but we have to want it. 2nd Corinthians 10:4 NKJV 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not [a]carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds…#thedevildefeated #godemons#evilisdestroyed #nomore ...
